Yoga Teacher Training

300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training

Karen will lead 300-hour alignment-based vinyasa yoga teacher training in the fall of 2025 in the gorgeous salt room at Aquarian Uprising with virtual options.  The course will be held over 8 consecutive 3-day weekends (Fridays-Sundays) beginning the week of October 3/4/5 and ending November 21/22/23.  In combination with your 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification, this course will bring you to RYT-500 status.

We will focus on deepening your understanding of yoga at the levels of the physical body, the energetic body, and the mind, bringing the traditional practice into the modern context. Karen combines alignment-based Ashtanga yoga with classical vinyasa, and integrates Buddhist philosophy into the history of yogic thought. This training will also dive into yogic meditation, yogic sleep, and yin/restorative practice.

The training includes daily practice of asana, pranayama, mantra, kriya and yoga nidra, as well as instruction of physical and subtle body anatomy, philosophy, and teaching methodology.  We read modern texts that explore both path and understanding.  We focus on the assessment of a posture from a functional movement perspective, as well as the safe and appropriate hands-on assist to suit the individual.

Karen will be joined by two master teachers for this training. Asha Wolf (Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Movement Analyst) will present a weekend of applied anatomy. Susan Chiocchi (Reiki Master, Certified in Brennan Healing Science, Certified to Perform Soul and Life Force Retrieval ritual in the Bon lineage of Tibetan Buddhism) will present a weekend on asana and the energy body. Afternoon asana workshop as well as restorative and yoga nidra practices will be led by Lindsea Stowe.

We will be reading the following:

The Deeper Dimension of Yoga by Georg Feuerstein

Applied Anatomy for Yoga Teachers and Students by Asha Wolf

Yoga and Psychotherapy: The Evolution of Consciousness by Swami Rama

The Courage to Teach by Parker J. Palmer

Yoga Vail was an incredible and comprehensive experience. Karen is thorough in both biomechanics and traditional philosophy. I believe her technique for teaching is a strong foundation for all teachers and her ability to guide and mentor is a strong support system that encourages continual growth.

Karen is a thoroughly prepared professional educator. I attended her 300 hour YTT training in 2021. My respect for her depth of knowledge, her presentation skills and the practical applications that she provided during the program is extremely high. The course far exceeded my expectations. My personal understanding, teaching and practice improved dramatically after attending her training. The training included Yoga Sequencing, Yoga Nidra, Meditation, Anatomy and Energy Fields as well as Philosophy, Self Reflections, and Self Practice. I highly recommend her training program.

I highly recommend Karen’s 300 hour yoga teacher training. Karen’s depth and breadth of knowledge is impressive. Her passion for the topic shines through in her teaching which makes for a really fun learning environment. Karen has a way to connect with students and meet them were they are in their journey of learning. She is approachable which made me feel comfortable in asking questions and participating in class. This program pushed my boundaries on some heavy emotional topics but in the most positive way. One can’t help but grow from this experience. Overall, the program was a lot of fun.
